What Happened?

I suddenly woke up one morning to realize that the last time I had a dream was when I was in high school.
. . .
When all I ever wanted was to gain admission into the college and study law.
. . .
This dream I achieved a few years ago, but along with it came this stunning and disturbing realization- this was the last goal and dream I had watched myself dream, desire, determine, work towards, and eventually achieved.

So the question was- what happened?
. . .
What happened to all those other dreams I nurtured as a child? What happened to my very rich and ambitious dream bank? Most importantly, why have I stopped dreaming?
. . .
The discovery of the answers to these questions and the journey and process of dealing with the root cause is a post for another day.
. . .
The reason why so many of us are stuck where we are right now and just marking time is simply because we have stopped engaging the simple-looking but very potent and powerful act of dreaming.
. . .
``Nonny, you don’t understand. My problem is way bigger than that!’’
. . .
I hear you, but can you just listen to me and do this one thing- Even if you threw the key into the river, search for it, find it and take those tentative steps to the keyhole of your dream bank. Insert the key, turn the lock, dust, and clean it up and begin the process of dreaming again.
. . .
Having a goal makes all the difference. More than giving you a destination, it shows you the way and even lends you the fire and passion you need to run with.
. . .
Therefore, pick up your pen and paper, write it down. Envision it, dream it, smell it, feel it, for surely you will soon see and have it.
. . .
See you at the top.
