Heart panting, palms sweating, he awaited her arrival at the restaurant where they have scheduled to meet, trying his best to play cool at the same time worrying he sucked at it.

Its been 3weeks since the passage of her birthday, and though he had resolved after that call to spill the beans, it had taken him yet another week to schedule a meeting with her.

It wasn't that he was ignorant of the possible consequence of putting a halt to their mutual friendship were she to reject his affection, quite the very opposite. He just doesn't want to add this to his Regret List in the future.

When she eventually took a seat across him a few minutes later, it was by sheer strength that he was able to make a meaningful conversation. And when he eventually got around to saying what had kept him awake these past few weeks, he got the shock of his life.....
